Carpet installation

Softness with a practical plan

Carpet can bring warmth and texture to bedrooms, family rooms and stairs. The Six Flooring & Co offers carpet installation and helps you compare suitable colours and constructions for your space. We discuss how you use the room, the desired feel underfoot and the edges where carpet meets other finishes.

Consider carpet and cushion together

The cushion is part of the installation system. Its suitability depends on the carpet and application. We also discuss seam placement, the direction of the carpet and the room layout. Patterned materials may require additional planning and material to align the design.

Prepare the space

Before work starts, agree who will clear the room, move furniture and remove the existing floor and cushion. Let us know about heavy furniture, built-in pieces, access restrictions and any areas of concern beneath the old carpet. The written scope should identify disposal and any preparation work.

Details for a clear quote

• Room measurements and proposed order quantity.
• Carpet and compatible cushion selection.
• Seam planning and transitions to adjacent surfaces.
• Separate treatment of stairs and landings, where applicable.
• Removal, furniture handling, cleanup and handover arrangements.

Questions before you book

Will there be seams? Some room sizes and layouts require them. We discuss the proposed arrangement; a promise of invisible seams would not be appropriate for every carpet and lighting condition.

Can you carpet stairs? Yes. Stair work is measured and scoped separately, including the desired coverage and how it meets the landing.

How do I care for the new carpet? Follow the selected carpet’s instructions for cleaning, furniture placement and use after installation. Keep the product and warranty information with your project documents.
