Understand the complete floor assembly

The floor, underlay and substrate must be considered together. Manufacturer instructions set the requirements for the chosen laminate, including preparation, movement space and finishing. Extra cushioning is not automatically an improvement; the underlay needs to be suitable for the system.

We discuss the existing floor height and how a new assembly will meet doors, adjacent rooms and stairs. These small decisions have a visible effect on the finished space and are easier to resolve before material is ordered.

Plan the project in stages

First, share photographs and approximate dimensions. Next, we review the site conditions and product choice, identify preparation and confirm the scope. Installation and finishing are scheduled around access, material availability and the requirements of the selected floor.

Questions before you book

Is every laminate suitable for a kitchen? No universal claim applies to all products. We check the intended room against the product’s stated suitability, installation instructions and water-related warranty terms.

Can laminate go over an old floor? Sometimes an existing surface may be suitable, but that decision depends on the base and the selected system. It is assessed before the scope is confirmed.
